I may be all the more seduced by these sexy luxe black looks because I just finished seeing "Mademoiselle C.", a film documenting the travails of the enigmatic Carine Roitfeld as she launches CR Fashion Book.  But when I came across Sally Lapointe recently, I was immediately mesmerized. The designer understands how to use black for its subtlety and it's strength and builds with intricate details and a strong feminine hand.

“Intimacy was the word we kept using. We wanted to invoke this voyeuristic allure that draws people in — that feeling where you know you shouldn’t be looking but you can’t quite look away.”
— Sally Lapointe

Lapointe's Pre-Fall and Fall collections for 2017 were intimidatingly glamorous and though there were piles of embellishments on embellishments, somehow she managed each look to appear fresh, modern, and never overdone. For Fall 2017, she launched her collection sans-runway and had each look donned by a moving model projected on eight-foot-tall high-def video screens. La Pointe has a vision for the future and it's unapologetically powerful, in-your-face, and female. I  loved it.

BTW. Marco de Vincenzo

December 22, 2016 by Deborah Ma in her wardrobe

Marco De Vincenzo was born in Messina in March 1978. When he was only eighteen he moved to Rome and, after graduating in Fashion and Costume at the European Institute of Design, joined the Office of Fendi style where for eleven years is the inseparable attendant of Silvia Venturini Fendi for the line of accessories. In the last years, in parallel, he has developed its own line of clothing with which he has debuted in Paris in January 28th 2009, during the Haute-Couture week. In July of the same year Marco won the first prize in the "Who's on Next" competition organized by the director of Vogue Italy Franca Sozzani. His prêt-à-porter is in Milan Fashion Week calendar starting from September 2009.
